Romanian Apple reseller iStyle has partnered with Apcom, the company’s official distributor in the territory, to lend a MacBook Air to the winner of a blogging contest (that’s right, ‘lend’) for one year.Had we not been born around these parts, we’d have probably slapped our foreheads so hard that blood would spurt out.
But we’re used to this kind of marketing campaigning around here, so we’ll let
you judge just how pathetic this contest really is.
Blogger
Dan Dragomir takes it upon himself to
announce the aforementioned duo’s partnership in a contest that has Romanian bloggers paint with words the look and feel of an upcoming iStyle store.
All they need to do is write down their ideas in a post on their personal blog and link to it.
Lacking any inspiration whatsoever, although perfect examples are just
a click away, the folks at
iStyle and
Apcom promise to
give away a MacBook Air for one entire year to the blogger whose idea sounds most interesting.
You read that right:
the organizers are lending the winner a MacBook Air, for one year’s worth of usage.
The author of the post specifically notes in brackets that “he who wins the title of ‘Apple Air Blogger’ gains the right to use a state-of-the-art MacBook Air for one year (yes, it will be returned).”
Moreover, the report indicates that said usage must revolve around blogging.
At this point, even we are baffled by what the Romanian blogger is reporting. But, you know what they say about shooting the messenger.
Finally, the lucky winner also gets to “witness the store’s opening ‘live’, as well as get a chance to exclusively report on the event.”
Although we must sign off here, we’d still like someone to explain to us why that MacBook Air is being lent instead of just given away. Is it a leaked prototype or something?
The device costs $999, for Christ’s sake. Makes you wonder: how much will it cost to build that new iStyle store?
