Next month, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is set to bring its new GALAXY S 4 smartphone to shelves in various markets around the world, though it seems that most users will only have access to the Snapdragon-based model.

Samsung unveiled two flavors of the device, one featuring the 8-core Exynos 5 Octa CPU that was made official in early January, yet new reports on the matter suggest that only 30 percent of the initial 10 million units will pack this chipset inside.

The rest will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 CPU, given that Samsung did not manage to kick off mass production for its processor in due time, as ETNEws reports.

As UnwiredView notes, Samsung expects sales of GALAXY S 4 to be at least two times higher than those of last year’s Galaxy S III, and chose to go for the Qualcomm CPU so as to ensure that there won’t be supply shortages.
