Activision has announced a big push related to its upcoming Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2, the new super hero-based action role playing game set to arrive on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Nintendo Wii, the PS2, the Nintendo DS and the PlayStation Portable. A web site for the title is now complete with a new online game while details of a GameStop-powered pre-order offer have also been delivered.

On the recently launched MarvelUltimateAlliance.com, all those interested in the game can log in and create an account so that they get exclusive fresh information, access to character reveals, Ask-a-Developer events, videos and screenshots. Activision promises regular updates to the site right up to the release date for Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2.

Using the same site, fans of Marvel comics can also take part in a new game, which simulates the Marvel Civil War. Players can choose to be Pro or Anti Registration and engage in real-time battles to influence the outcome. Those who do especially well can get prizes like a big screen TV, Xbox 360 Elite gaming consoles and signed comics from Stan Lee, one of Marvel's legendary creators.

Players who plan to get the game can also take advantage of a new offer, put together in partnership with GameStop. Those who pre-order the title for the PlayStation 3 or for the Xbox 360 will be getting a chance to use an exclusive in-game character, Juggernaut.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 is set to let gamers play as a wide array of heroes and villains, including well-known faces like Spider-Man, Wolverine, Hulk, Iron Man, Deadpool, Venom, Green Goblin and Captain America. Activision and developer Vicarious Visions are promising great graphics and detailed representations of all the super heroes and their powers.
