If you’re into online gambling, you should make sure that the websites you visit are trusted. Experts have come across tens of thousands of spam emails used to advertised various casino apps that hide potentially unwanted applications (PUA).

According to Webroot’s Dancho Danchev, the spam emails advertise online casinos called Royal Vegas, River Belle, Lucky Nugget, All Slots, 888 Casino and Spin Palace.

PUAs are programs that contain adware, install toolbars or have unclear objectives. There are some situations in which users might consider that the benefits of the app outweigh the risks.

However, most antivirus solutions are designed to warn users when they download such apps.

Most of the PUAs uncovered by Webroot are detected by antivirus solutions. This means users can protect themselves against the shady apps by making sure an up-to-date antivirus is running on their devices.
