A pretty shady name in the tablet manufacturing business, Japanese company Onkyo is gearing up to release a new Android tablet, unimaginatively called the SlatePad TA2C-A41R3-2.

The SlatePad belongs to the 10.1-inch category and bundles a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, while drawing power form a 1.6GHz ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core processor combined with Mali-400 MP GPU and 1GB of RAM plus 16GB of internal storage.

All the standard functions you might expect to find in tablet are also present here, including dual cameras (0.3MP in front and 2MP on the back), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 + HS and mini HDMI port. I could say that the main selling point of these slate might be the substantial 6400 battery, but it definitely lacks in other departments like the OS (running on the outdated Android 4.1).

The tablet should start shipping this month with a price tag of $285 / €210.
