Today, Onkyo has made available a new firmware package compatible with some of its 7.2-channel network A/V receivers, namely version 1050-4110-0001-0300-0001, which includes only some minor bug fixes.

When it comes to the supported devices, this new release is to be used regardless of the operating system powering your computer and only for updating Onkyo’s HT-RC660, TX-NR636, TX-NR737, and TX-NR838 units.

In order to apply the latest firmware on your device, save and unzip the appropriate archive for your product model, then copy the contents onto a formatted USB drive.

Before initiating the upgrade, it would be best to turn off the Multi Zone function, set “HDMI Control (RIHD)” option to “Off,” remove any Ethernet cable, and stop playback from any connected devices.

Now connect the USB stick to the Onkyo unit, select the USB input source, go to Home > Firmware Update > Update via USB > Update, and wait patiently for the new software to be applied on the device.

Upon completion, the A/V receiver will display a “Completed!” message announcing a successful upgrade. At this point, you must press the “On/Standby” button on the front panel for the device to enter standby mode, and you’re done.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your Onkyo receiver model, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and apply the latest firmware version on your device.
