An updated version of the OneShot application is now available for download for the owners of Windows Phone devices out there, namely version 4.0.0.0.

As part of the new app iteration, users will receive a nice range of very appealing features, including support for high-resolution photos on Nokia devices with PureView cameras inside.

According to the release notes for the application available courtesy of WMPoweruser, owners of Nokia Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1520 devices will be able to snap photos at 38MP and 20MP resolution, respectively.

“If you have the Lumia 1020 or 1520, you will see the high resolutions to be available for all aspect ratios (4:3, 16:9, 1:1). Get even more out of your beautiful photos taken with OneShot,” BrilliantVision, the application’s publisher, notes.

However, this is only one of the great enhancements included in the new application version, as it also brings along JPEG compression adjustment.

Basically, the new software release comes with improved default compression rate, which has been decreased, so that pictures would have more quality by default. Users will also be able to adjust this option in the settings menu, with options such as High, Medium and Low available for them.

OneShot 4.0.0.0 also comes to devices with support for voice control, which means that users will be able to snap photos using their voice.

“Just enable voice control in the settings menu and start taking pictures by using the phrases ‘take picture’ or ‘take photo’. We currently support English as the only language for voice control, so you need at least one English language installed on your Windows Phone,” the release notes unveil.

Users will need to go to the settings menu on their Windows Phone devices to enable the Speech Recognition Service, which will then allow them to use voice commands on the handset.

Other enhancements in the new app release include support for GPS tagging. Users will also have the possibility to disable it through swiping for the Applications menu and going to “photos+camera,” where the “Include location info in pictures I take” option is available.

Last but not least, the new version of OneShot also comes with a macro favorite button. The application’s favorite button has been one of its main features since the initial launch, and the availability of more options will certainly enhance users’ experience with it.

“The latest release of OneShot receives another favorite button which switches the current capture mode to the macro mode,” the release notes unveil.

You can download OneShot for Windows Phone from Softpedia today. The application should be compatible with all devices running under Windows Phone 8.
