You will still need an invitation to get it

Almost one million users purchased the OnePlus One smartphone, attracted by the phone's price, specs and ease of modding. Although the Chinese company started small, planning to sell no more than 100,000 handsets, the OnePlus One turned out to be a massive success for such a small company.

In the last couple of days, OnePlus teased something that would be revealed on June 1. The “Time to Change” tease sparked the imagination of many OnePlus fans, as well as the media, leading them to believe that the Chinese OEM might announce a second phone on that day.

Luckily, the folks over at AusDroid have an answer for us, as they had the chance to talk with OnePlus' co-founder Carl Pei, who was kind enough to reveal some information about his company's upcoming smartphone.

First of all, the smartphone's name has been confirmed to be OnePlus 2, not OnePlus Two. Also, the new device will be available for purchase sometime in Q3 2015.

OnePlus 2 might be announced closer to July or September

Even though OnePlus dropped the invitation system for OnePlus One lately, the company will reinforce it soon in order to enable customers to purchase the new OnePlus 2.

This time, however, more invites will be distributed in the beginning, so the user experience should be much better over the previous device.

Another important piece of information that we’ve found out is that there won't be a new device unveiled on June 1. Yes, contrary to the rumors that have been running around in the last couple of days, OnePlus 2 won't be revealed next week.

OnePlus' co-founder did not say what the company would unveil, but he was pretty clear that “it's not a new device.” Sorry folks, but you will have to wait a few more months probably.

Last but not least, OnePlus 2 will ship in the Western market with OxygenOS, while in the eastern markets the smartphone will be powered by HydrogenOS.

We will certainly know more about OnePlus' future plans next week when the Chinese company has something important to announce, so stay tuned for more on this matter.
