A company called Oh Need has an odd-looking accessory for your iPhone 4/4S that aims to boost both video and audio by using what is basically a big magnifying glass and an orthophonic horn.

Although the Mini Cinema certainly doesn't provide an ideal viewing experience, its original design and functionality more than justifies the relatively small price tag ($68/€52).

It also comes in black and white versions to match your iPhone model.

No technical details are offered on ohneed.com, but from the looks of the pictures, this device enhances video and audio using turn-of-the-century methods pioneered by the likes of Thomas Edison and Graham Bell.

Note that the glass doesn't record your touch, so you still have to use the iPhone's screen to get things to happen.

Its old-school functionality gives it enough points on the originality scale to make the Mini Cinema a perfect present for someone who appreciates symbolic gifting. You can see more pictures here.
