One of the Baldwins Has No Money for Cars, So He Steals Them

The Baldwin brothers are many and so are their run-ins with the law. But maybe the most famous for such unexpected and unpleasant encounters (save Alec, who got his share of tabloid coverage with his divorce from Kim Basinger and the scandal that is still ongoing) is Daniel who, not long ago, became a regular at the police station.

On Wednesday, Daniel Baldwin was arrested in Santa Monica, California, after police officers saw the disheveled actor outside a motel, in the parking lot, getting into a car that was already reported stolen. They immediately went in and searched the actor's motel room, where they found narcotics and drug paraphernalia, more of a reason to cuff him and take him to the station.

Downtown, Daniel was booked on grand theft charges, although it did come out later that the SUV belonged to one of his acquaintances but the count still stands because the owner did not give Baldwin his explicit permission to take it. An investigation for possession of illegal drugs is underway and bail was set at $20,000.

This is not Daniel's first offense either: in April, police found cocaine and paraphernalia on him after they were summoned to another motel room by a woman who claimed he beat her up and threatened her. Then, in July, Baldwin was arrested again after speeding, crashing his car into two stationary vehicles and driving with a suspended license.

The media contacted Daniel's publicist for comments but he refused to answer any calls.
