Apple has a lot of long time followers

Almost a year ago, I gave a PC to my father to keep at home and maybe connect to the Internet so we can get in touch easier, but first of all he should have solved the "how to use a PC" problem. Needless to say (although I will say it) the computer was used in a year about as much as I would use it in a week or two, and I wonder if the situation had been different if that computer would have been a Mac. Well, until I spare enough money to get a Mac for my parents' house, let's check some facts reported today by MetaFacts.com...

The notebook computers are becoming more and more popular even with home users, since nearly 52 million notebooks are used as primary home computers in the US, which are 30.2% of the total, according to MetaFacts. The interesting part is that in Apple households, 52% of the computers are notebooks. These being said, let's move to the age issue now, shall we?

Compared to the number of PC users over 55, which represents 25.2% of the total PC users, 46% of the Mac users are age 55 and older, but this doesn't mean Apple creates technology for the older people, because the younger ones have started to favor Macs over PCs more and more.

A last fact that needs to be mentioned is that the Macs that can be found in US homes seem to be "younger" then the PCs, with two thirds of them being less than 2.5 years "old", while half of the Dell and HP/Compaq PCs find themselves in the same situation. I don't know what to say about the future, but Apple looks good for all the ages, and that says a lot; so, if you're an older person in need of a computer and you're afraid that you won't be able to learn how to use it, you can try to taste an Apple!
