Bandai Namco has announced that One Piece: Unlimited World Red will also be released in the west in June and July this year, for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS platforms.

The action adventure video game is based on the popular One Piece manga and anime, and it is already out in Japan on Nintendo's portable console, the 3DS. The PlayStation 3, Wii U and PS Vita versions will be out in Japan on June 12, near the time the game will be launched on western markets.

The edition that's coming out in June/July has a bunch of new content that is unavailable in the Nintendo 3DS version, which will also be launched in North America and Europe, at the same time the game lands on the other platforms.

Of the additions, the most notable is the Coliseum Mode, a special variant that challenges players with defeating Donquixote Doflamingo (and hopefully getting rid of the hideous plumage jacket once and for all). Trafalgar Law is featured as a playable character, new to One Piece: Unlimited World Red and exclusive to the Coliseum Mode.

Europeans will benefit from two special editions, the Straw Hat Day 1 Edition, including 10 outfits and the Flame Fist & Straw Hat quest, and the Chopper Edition, coming with the Day 1 Edition contents, an artbook, a Chopper key holder, 10 stickers, a lanyard and the Takoyaki DLC Pack.

One Piece: Unlimited World Red is going to come out in Europe on June 27, and in North America sometime in July 2014.
