Band can’t possibly split right now because they still have albums to deliver

For some weeks now, a very persistent rumor has been making the rounds online, though no one could trace it to a reliable source, that One Direction, the biggest boyband of the moment, was on the verge of breaking up.

It’s not uncommon for such musical acts to call it quits or time out for their members to pursue solo projects but, as concerns One Direction, that is simply not the case right now, TMZ reports.

If only for the money, the five guys are staying together, because they still have 3 more albums to deliver to their record label.

“We're told the group's been writing songs separately... but the solo writing is just part of the process – and the guys eventually compare notes with each other to come up with final versions. And they better do a lot of that... we're told 1D still owes the label 3 records before they can even think about calling it quits. So, a break-up just isn't on the table,” the publication writes.

The breakup rumors were fueled even more at the Brit Awards 2014 a few days ago, when Liam Payne told reporters that they had not seen each other in some time. Many fans erroneously assumed it was because they were splitting.
