Not only do we pick on them, but we also cut their funds. Legally.

Gizmondo is one bunch of guys I begin to like more and more, especially as I noticed we're on the same side of the barricade as far as the struggle against RIAA is concerned. Today, one of their editors, Adam Frucci, came in with a very cool idea on how we could kick RIAA's a** further more: buying used CDs!

Hell, man, this idea is really nice. After all, I guess there are but few people who have never bought used CDs and vinyls - it's such a common practice: you get the music you want, in the condition you want and also save some money (which money, in the case of heavy buyers is quit significant!). the funny fact is that, as you pay for a used medium, no money goes to RIAA any longer: they've had their share the first time that album was bought and now they should be fine with that. Not that I would be surprised to hear that the guys thought of some additional fees each time a recording changes owners...

Besides the physical stores you can wander through for hours, there have been born online locations for the same purpose and you can actually do your used CD-shopping right from the warm comfort of your home, while still denying RIAA any kind of further payment. What's even cooler is the fact that, usually, in this kind of stores you are most likely to find real "jewels" - rare records at unbelievably low prices...

So, there you go: you can get almost all the music you want at a very serious discount rate while still becoming its legal owner AND showing RIAA the finger. Don't mind RIAA telling you that you're not paying any revenue and the artists will not get a dime even though you have their albums: the artists don't usually get too much of a dime form RIAA anyway.

PS: I really can't tell how much time will pass until the RIAA, or CRB or god knows who else will think of some additional taxes for the used records stores, if there will be any. Prex and Spun, get ready!
