"Note: This is the desktop version of Ubuntu. Ubuntu is a community developed operating system that is perfect for laptops, desktops, and servers. Whether you use it at home, at school or at work Ubuntu contains all the applications you'll ever need, from word processing and e-mail applications, to Web server software and programming tools. Ubuntu is and always will be free of charge. You do not pay any licensing fees. You can download, use and share Ubuntu with your friends, family, school or business for absolutely nothing.Version 7.04, named "Feisty Fawn," adds the Ubuntu Studio, a multimedia editing and production suite, to the distribution. " says Microsoft.

Yeap, you've heard me, the lines above belong to Microsoft. Allow me to tell you the entire context as this is way too funny not to spread the word out and about. The well-known Microsoft software company owns a website, called Windows Marketplace whose main purpose would be, allow me to quote here: "to make it easy for you to discover the software & hardware that work best for you and your PC. " For short, Windows Marketplace is a website featuring downloads for different software products, not necessary belonging to MS.

Last week on this website, every one was able to see that among MS's rich offer there was also Canonical's Ubuntu. Yup. And according to the description I've posted in the beginning Ubuntu is perfect. Yeap Microsoft, it is perfect, but we've already known that. However, soon after the "Ubuntu incident" has occurred, MS removed that page. But thousands of people have had already seen it and lived the day to download Ubuntu from Microsoft. Actually, more than 10,000 downloads had already occurred, as it was revealed by the "detailed specifications page". Well done Microsoft and keep it up!
