The Omni Group has partnered up with The David Allen Company to support the Getting Things Done methodology through the former's popular task-management application, OmniFocus, an innovative, personal productivity solution for the Mac, iPhone and iPod touch. The David Allen Company is founded by David Allen, author of "Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity."

OmniFocus is designed to capture the user’s thoughts while allowing them to store, manage, and process thoughts into actionable to-do items, according to the official Omni Group report. Tasks can be assigned to projects and stored within contexts. No previous understanding of the GTD methodology is required on the reader's part, the Omni Group says, while the White paper gives a thorough explanation of how the concepts of Capture, Process, Organize, Do, and Review are expertly handled in OmniFocus. Available as a free download from The David Allen Company's website, the White paper can also be acquired from the Omni Group site.

"We're thrilled to be working more closely with The David Allen Company," Ken Case, CEO of the Omni Group, says. "David's work on GTD has been a big inspiration for us, and it's been great to work with DavidCo's professional trainers, clarifying both our understanding of GTD and their understanding of how best to implement a GTD workflow in Mac and iPhone environments."

"OmniFocus is a stellar tool for keeping track of outcomes and actions in the Mac environment," David Allen, bestselling author of "Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity" adds. "It supports simple but important practices for keeping your head clear, staying focused, and managing your commitments."

Requiring Mac OS X 10.4.8 or later, OmniFocus 1.7 costs $79.95. OmniFocus 1.5 for iPhone requires iPhone OS 3.0 and is compatible with both the iPhone and the iPod touch. Priced at $19.99, the app can be acquired using the second link below.
