A few days ago, several publications stated that Omer Bhatti, a young man who literally grew up next to the late Michael Jackson, might actually be his secret lovechild. Speculation was prompted by the observation that Bhatti was seated with the Jackson clan, in the front row, at the public memorial held at Staples Center in Los Angeles. However, the young artist himself denies there’s any foundation for the rumors in a new interview with the Daily Mail.

The British tab got a hold of the dancer / aspiring rapper, and has learned that, as the media is having a field day with rumors on the possibility of him being Michael Jackson’s secret child, he is actually keeping his cool. Bhatti says that he was not related to the King of Pop in any way, much less be son and father: they were only very close friends who shared the same taste in terms of music, dancing and fashion.

“Sitting alongside the singer’s relatives, Omer Bhatti re-ignited rumors that somehow had a biological link to the late chart-topper. But the 25-year-old, who’s now living back in his native Norway, insists that the King of Pop was nothing more than a ‘best friend.’ Omer moved to the singer’s Neverland Ranch with his family in 1996. His mother Pia was employed as a nanny, while his dad Huayoun was taken on as a driver.” the Daily Mail writes.

Michael saw Omer dance one of his own routines while he was on tour and was so impressed with the skills of the boy that he personally made sure he and his family would find accommodation at Neverland. When the Bhatti family moved there, Omer and Michael became very close friends and did a string of public appearances together, with the young boy often dressed up to look like a smaller version of Michael. News of the death of the artist hit Omer very hard, friends of his are telling the media.

“They would hang out and watch movies and all that kind of stuff. His parents and his sister stayed in a cottage in a different part of the ranch. I never got the vibe that anything inappropriate was going on. Michael was very protective of him and wanted to mentor him. [At the memorial] He looked so pale and thin, I have never seen him looked [sic.] so depressed. Omer is usually the life and soul of the party, but he said he had never felt so let down.” one of Omer’s friends shares for the aforementioned British publication.
