Olympus has just outed a new firmware targeted at its E-M1 digital camera, namely version 1.1, which improves the device’s overall performance and stability.

Specifically speaking, the newly released package improves the autofocus operation, enhances the live bulb image quality when noise reduction is set to “On,” and stabilizes SCN and C-AF shooting features that are available in Sports and Children mode.

Moreover, version 1.1 adds support for chromatic aberration compensation when using the E-M1 camera combined with Panasonic’s LUMIX G VARIO 14-140mm, F3.5-5.6 ASPH., or POWER O.I.S. (H-FS14140) lenses.

As for updating the camera, just get the downloadable executable, close all programs and processes that might interfere with the installation, run the “oly_updater_win_v103.exe” file, and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.

That being said, all you need to do now is download Firmware 1.1 for Olympus E-M1 Camera, take into account all the mentioned aspects, and update your camera’s firmware version.
