Today, Olympus has released new firmware packages developed for two of its digital cameras, namely version 1.1 and 1.4 compatible with the STYLUS 1 and E-P5 devices, respectively, which improve the unit’s overall usability.

If this fresh update is installed, shooting images using the “OLYMPUS Image Share” smartphone application will benefit from the features. Specifically speaking, this remote control function now supports Art Filter, custom self-timer, Digital Tele-converter, and Release mode.

Besides the aforementioned changes, the Olympus E-P5 also gets a “0 Second” setting added to the Anti-Shock mode.

As for applying this release, simply get and run the downloadable package (available for both Mac and Windows operating systems), read the terms and conditions, connect the camera to the computer via a USB cable, and click the “Next” button.

At this point, the utility will search for a newer version and, when the appropriate firmware for your camera is found, click on the “Update” button. Now, select “Yes,” carefully read the Software License Agreement, and click on the “Agree” button.

Wait for the new firmware to be installed on the camera and, when the camera's LCD displays an “Ok” message, click “Next,” remove the USB cable, and you’re done.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your camera model, get the firmware update, and install the current software on your Olympus device. Also, check with our website as often as possible in order to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
