Today, Olympus has made available a new firmware package developed for its OM-D E-M1 digital camera, namely version 1.3, which includes a few changes that should improve the device’s overall performance and usability.

Specifically speaking, the new update expands the Dynamic Range when using the external mic, adds a new “0” second value for the Anti-Shock mode, and changes the sound adjustment option to 21 levels.

In addition to that, this fresh release also includes a new function that allows users to turn the Volume Limiter on and off; if this option is set to on, the mic’s input volume will be automatically limited if the selected level is exceeded.

When it comes to installing version 1.3, this task can be fulfilled through the producer’s digital camera updater that is available for both Windows (32- and 64-bit variants) and Mac (OS X 10.3 and later) operating systems.

As for the instructions, simply get and execute the proper updater for your system, connect the camera to the computer through the available USB cable, click “Next,” select the 1.3 firmware version, and hit the “Update” button.

Select “Yes” at the next dialog window, read the Software License Agreement and click “Agree,” and wait for the firmware to be applied. When the camera’s LCD displays “Ok,” click “Next,” disconnect the USB cable, close the updater, and you’re done.

That being said, download Olympus E-M1 Camera Firmware 1.3 for the compatible OS, take into account all the above-mentioned aspects, apply the firmware, and enjoy your newly updated digital camera.
