Besides the already known digital camera models (OM-D E-M10, SP-100, and TG-850) that will be presented starting tomorrow, February 13, at the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show in Yokohama, Japan, Olympus revealed today a new Stylus Tough TG-835 rugged digital camera.

According to the specifications published on Olympus Japan, the TG-835 has the exact same configuration as the TG-830 rugged camera released last year. This means that the new model will probably come as a replacement for last year's camera, but the odd thing is that the company didn't add anything new in its construction.

Olympus TG-835 will come packed with a 16MP 1/2.3'' CMOS sensor and a 5x optical zoom lens with a 35mm equivalent focal length of 28-140mm and f/3.9-5.9 maximum aperture. The camera will also be capable of capturing 1080p Full HD video footage at 30 frames per second in MOV/H.264 format.

In addition to that, Olympus TG-835 is waterproof up to 33ft / 10m, freezeproof up to 14°F / -10°C, shockproof if dropped from as high as 7ft / 2.1m, crushproof (220lbs / 100kg), and dustproof.

The camera will be available for purchase starting February 28, but Olympus didn't offer any details about its retail price.

Besides the TG-835, the company also announced the official release date for the PT-EP11 waterproof housing designed to fit the OM-D E-M1 high-end interchangeable lens camera.

The PT-EP11 waterproof case is capable of withstanding depths of up to 148ft / 45m and comes with support for Underwater Wide and Underwater Macro modes for automatic correction of color and white balance.

The casing is also compatible with the optional FL-LM2 flash that will allow you to control Olympus' UFL-2 underwater flashgun. The new housing will be available in Japan starting February 21 at a price of ¥119,000 / $1,160 / €850.
