Called Olympus SP-820UZ iHS, it will ship starting with September 2012

We thought Pentax' X-5 digital camera had an advanced zoom capability (26x), but it doesn't really compare to the 40x of the Olympus SP-820UZ iHS.

Priced at $329.99 / €263, the Ultra Zoom compact camera offers a 22.4-896mm equivalent, or 40x zoom.

Coupled with the 14-megapixel CMOS sensor, this makes for very broad photo and video shooting options, which the 3-inch LCD won't really be able to do justice to.

Speaking of which, the top video quality is, as one may expect, Full HD (1080p).

What's more, the Dual Image Stabilization technology will ensure that nothing turns out blurry or jittery.

As for audio, Linear PCM sound recording is built into the camera.

Olympus will ship the product starting with September, in black and silver. An HDMI output will be part of the design, as shown on the product page.
