If you are a scuba diving fan you surely want to take your camera underwater to grab amazing shots of the great fauna and flora found in some parts of the world. Sure, waterproof digital cameras are not that expensive, but if you want to dive deeper they can easily break due to increased pressure.

The solution for this issue is to purchase an underwater housing made especially for your digital camera model, which allows you to dive at greater depths without having to worry about ruining your gear.

Nauticam is a US-based manufacturer of underwater camera housings, which already has a wide range of products that can accommodate popular digital cameras, from DSLRs and medium format to mirrorless and compact camera models.

In a recent press release, the company announced the availability of a new underwater housing (NA-EM1) designed to fit the Olympus OM-D E-M1 mirrorless camera. The NA-EM1 allows you to take your E-M1 camera underwater, giving you at the same time access to all camera controls.

Another great feature of the NA-EM1 is that it comes with an integrated handle system, similar with Nauticam SLR housings that enable you to easily hold the camera and keep it stable in any shooting conditions.

The NA-EM1 model is the company's first mirrorless housing that features the signature Nauticam Port Locking Lever, which uses an internal bayonet system that allows you to quickly and securely change ports.

In addition to that, the NA-EM1 comes with an integrated electronic vacuum check and leak detection system designed to prevent unwanted accidents caused by water entering the housing.

The Nauticam is milled from solid hard anodized aluminum and has a maximum depth rate of 100m (328 ft). The housing can also be equipped with a “straight” 180º enlarging viewfinder as well as a 45º angled enlarging viewfinder to give you the best shooting conditions needed at any time.

The Nauticam NA-EM1 will be available starting December 20, but no information has been given about its market price.
