Just now, Olympus has announced the availability of new firmware versions developed for two of its OM-D system cameras, namely version 1.1 and 1.4 compatible with the E-M10 and E-M1 devices, respectively.

When it comes to changes, while E-M10’s first firmware update adds a “0 second” setting for the Anti-Shock mode and improves the image stabilization compensation when recording videos, E-M1’s related package includes different modifications.

Specifically speaking, the 1.4 firmware version enhances the autofocus response while using four thirds lenses and improves the stabilization for continuous-autofocus (C-AF) shooting.

In addition to that, if the E-M1 camera is upgraded to the current version, the smartphone’s remote control function (“OLYMPUS Image Share” application) is now able to make use of Art Filter, custom self-timer, electric zoom operation, Digital Tele-converter, and Release mode.

As for installing the latest firmware, this can be performed through the producer’s Digital Camera Updater, which is available for both Windows (version 1.03) and Mac (version 1.06) platforms.

Therefore, get and run the proper utility for your system, connect the imaging device to the computer, make sure the camera is powered on, select “Next,” and allow the updater to search for a new firmware version.

When found, click on the “Update” button, confirm the next dialogs through the proper options, and wait for the new software to be applied and for the camera LCD to display an “Ok” message. Afterwards, close the utility, remove the USB cable, and enjoy your newly-updated device.

That being said, download Olympus E-M10 Camera Firmware 1.1 or download Olympus E-M1 Camera Firmware 1.4 depending on which device you own, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
