Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis announced their engagement in January 2013 and had been planning for a wedding in spring 2014. They will probably put that on hold now that they’re expecting their first child together.

A publicist for the happy couple confirms the news for People magazine, with an insider also chiming in to say that “They are incredibly happy. They’re very excited to welcome a new member into their family.”

Olivia too has broken her silence on Twitter to confirm that she is, indeed, pregnant and, at the same time, to thank her fans and followers who have been sending her congratulations and well-wishes since the news broke.

“WOW. You guys are awesome. So kind. Thank you thank you thank you! PS. Babies eat mostly salsa right?” Olivia joked.

As noted above, in interviews given after the engagement announcement, Olivia had hinted that spring 2014 was the mostly likely time of the year when she and Jason would tie the knot. However, now that she’s pregnant, she might scrap the plans and wait until the baby is born to get married.

The two met in 2011 on SNL and started dating some months later. In January, they shocked fans by announcing they had decided to get married but, if you look at Olivia’s most recent interview with Marie Claire magazine, it’s almost clear that they were already talking about having babies.

“I’m open-minded about how many [children we want], but three, which I love, is like a little party. I am not trying to have kids now – there's no strict plan for anything in my life. What happens, happens. He's so good with kids... I've never before experienced looking at someone and thinking, ‘That's who I want to raise a child with’,” she said.

Before meeting Jason, Olivia was a real-life princess, having been married to Italian prince Tao Ruspoli for 8 years.
