14 DAY TRIAL // MSI has announced it was updating its GT72 Dominator Pro model with NVIDIA’s latest GPU standard, which was introduced a while ago, but don’t feel bad if you already purchased the older model.

Probably feeling the ache of older GT720 Dominator Pro owners who want a taste of NVIDIA’s latest GeForce 970M / 980M duo, MSI is rolling out an upgrade kit for the GPU installed on the above-mentioned laptop.
MSI offers you a tutorial for upgrading and everything
So if you own an older version of the GT720 Dominator Pro, you can now take the integrated graphics card out and replace it with a new one provided by MSI itself. However, this operation will cost you quite a few bucks.
Each bundle arrives with a GPU, a cooling system for the GPU (fan), 6 new screws and a companion CD for installing the drivers. You can check out the installation guide by following this link.
The new GPU has to be mounted on a 3.0 module MXM (Mobile PCI Express Module) which allows users to connect a dedicate PCI slot Express 16x.
MSI will be launching two versions of the kit, one with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M with 6GB of memory, while the other will bundle an NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M with 8GB. Note that the upgrade kits are available only in selected regions.
The MSI GT72 Dominator Pro takes advantage of a 17.3-inch full HD anti-glare LCD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels and draws power from Intel’s 4th-gen Core i7 processor platform.
The laptop is offered with a full color LED backlit keyboard by SteelSeries and takes advantage of technologies such as Cooler Boost 3, which maintains the notebook at an optimal temperature level, even when the most demanding applications are running onboard.
