A USB turntable is a phonograph device, used to convert the tracks on vinyl records into a digital and mostly accessible format, such as a CD or MP3. One of the first devices of this kind was released in early 2006, by ion Audio and it was soon dubbed iTTUSB.

While designing the device, both digital and analog outputs are provided, so that the turntables can be real sources for regular analog amplifiers.

Today, even more companies think of various ways to enable the freelance DJs to spin their old vinyls and throw great parties. Some of the newly released products are so well designed, that they even feature a built-in speaker system or PC connectivity. This type of turntable is great to use by DJs with nothing but a good old record collection and a computer. It doesn't even require super smart softwares to get started.

However, if you ever feel nostalgic, the device allows easy listening to the portable USB system, just the way it was intended from the beginning. The user has to plug in the AC adaptor and pop in 6 D cell batteries, available in just about any store.

Among other technical details in the specifications list, the device requires Windows Vista and Windows Media Center, is both PC and Mac compatible, requires one available USB 1.1 port and more.

Sporting a convenient size, the device can be very portable, and I am pretty sure you'll notice that the moment you decide to throw a classy party at the office. Besides that, just think you might actually give it a spin in the garden, in secure environment, as the system comes with a protective dustcover and integrated carrying case.

Either way, this great device mixes high tech technology with old school memories, to bring you the best memories back. Anyway, the 90 pounds price tag seems fair to me!
