Bikes are always a greener alternative to big, polluting cars. However, their manufacturing process is not entirely eco-conscious, because it often involves the usage of virgin materials.

Supplementary seats made of leather are so yesterday, since sustainable options are now widely available.

He may not have invented the wheel, but Israeli designer Yael Livneh has introduced a simple concept, revealing an eco-friendly line of additional bike seats and baskets, using old, recycled milk crates.

The useful riding basket is big enough to accommodate a bag filled with goodies. The “two go” project was first spotted in 2010, during a design competition gathering no less than 3000 enthusiastic participants.

Far from being a high-tech solution, this creative recycling strategy is suitable for people who enjoy designing their own things, and can be easily manufactured relying on cost-effective materials, available in most of the DIY retail shops.
