Oksana Grigorieva Threatens to Leave Mel Gibson for Being a Drunk

Although the latest IT couple in Hollywood – not necessarily in the sense we’ve come to think of the term – has just announced they’re expecting a child, Mel’s eighth, the actor is already having a hard time with new love interest Oksana Grigorieva. The expectant mother has already slapped the star with an ultimatum: it’s either rehab for him or she walks out the door, the National Enquirer says in its latest print edition.

Sources close to the couple say the two have already started fighting because Mel Gibson cannot control himself when around alcohol. Oksana reportedly knows too well the kind of temper the actor has when he’s had one too many drinks, which is why she has already let him know that she won’t tolerate this kind of behavior in the future, especially with a baby on the way. Consequently, she has told him that he must seek professional help for his problem in the long run so that they can be able to live a happy life together.

“Oksana wants Mel to deal with his drinking on a long-term basis. Mel’s got a hair-trigger temper when he’s drunk, and Oksana insists she won’t stick around when he’s like that. She’s informed Mel that if he doesn’t go to rehab, she’ll bow out of the picture before they go any further.” an unnamed source says for the tabloid. The silver lining to this would be, according to the same spy, that Mel is desperately in love with the mother of his yet unborn child, so he’s already considering getting himself into rehab to put her mind at ease.

“Oksana thinks Mel will be less likely to cheat on her if he’s not out drinking. But she knows that Mel’s very stubborn and that it’s hard for him to stop drinking, especially now with all the changes in his life. The good thing is that Mel really loves Oksana, and he desperately wants to get his act together. He says he’s willing to do whatever she wants, but only time will tell if he stands by his words.” shares the spy.

Mel Gibson has had a long history with alcohol abuse, his 2006 arrest and accompanying public (and extremely embarrassing) meltdown being the most illustrative example of the kind of temper he has when under the influence. It is believed the DUI Gibson got then, as well as the anti-Semitic and misogynist rant he unleashed upon a female police officer, have played an essential part in Oksana’s decision to give her partner the rehab ultimatum.
