We live in a very sophisticated world, and as it so often happens, sometimes the rush and refinement of technology makes us forget that many of today's most common problems often have very simple solutions. Of course, this doesn't mean that we should give up any of the benefits bestowed upon us by the modern world of chemical peelings, cosmetic surgery and laser treatments, but rather pay a little more attention to the simple natural remedies that we have at our disposal and give them a try – we may be surprised with the results.
Oily hair is a common yet annoying problem that many women have to fight throughout their lives. There are a million shampoos out there who promise to fight excess sebum and leave our hair looking sleek and shiny, although a clearing shampoo may not always be enough. In order to boost its effect or cut back on the number of times you have to use such a shampoo each week, why not give modern technology a helping hand by using some of the oldest hair care tricks in the book.
Ingredients such as egg whites, lemon, vinegar or yogurt can be found in the fridge and they were proven time and again to work wonders for oily hair. Another secret for keeping your hair clean and oil-free is Multani Mati, also known as Fuller's Mud, a natural clay, used for centuries as a natural skin cleanser and which absorbs excess oil, cleans clogged pores and removes deeply embedded impurities.
Here's what you can do. Mix 4 tablespoons of egg white with 4 tablespoons of yogurt, 2 spoons of Fuller's Mud and the juice from half a lemon and stir the mixture until it turns into a semi-liquid paste. Divide your hair into easy-to-manage, 1 or 2 inch sections, then rub the paste in at the roots and massage all over your hair. Wrap your hair in a towel and leave the mask on for about half an hour, then rinse your hair thoroughly without using shampoo. Do this at least once a week and you'll feel the difference almost immediately. For added shine, you can rinse your hair using water in which you've added half a glass of malt vinegar. Give it a try and you won't regret it.
