IXI Mobile has announced the release of the Ogo 2 through mobile operator Swisscom Mobile in February, and now the device will also become available to customers in the US, through Ohio-based carrier Revol Wireless.

"Revol Wireless was created to give its customers the freedom of unlimited wireless services," says Rocky Crossland, Revol's President and CEO. "Ogo is a revolutionary device that supports our expanding product offerings to include Unlimited Instant Messaging, blogging, and social networking as well."

Ogo will be a great addition to Revol Wireless' lineup considering that most of the mobile operator's customer base consists of young users that send text messages and emails frequently. The device includes a QWERTY keyboard making email composing more convenient as well as a variety of mobile communication methods including email, instant messaging, SMS, MMS, voice and web browsing.

A key feature of the Ogo is the innovative OgoClip concept allowing the adding of a variety of replaceable components including a 2 megapixel camera, music streamer, Bluetooth and even a bottle opener. Users will be able to fully personalize the handset and add dedicated functionality without having to repace the existing device.

"IXI's focus has always been bringing mobile messaging to the masses," stated Amit Haller, CEO of IXI Mobile "To reach this goal in the US, we have adopted a unique approach to the market and are partnering with innovative, customer oriented carriers who are delivering flat rate plansincluding unlimited messaging and phone calls," said Haller. "Revol's commitment to affordable wireless communication is the approach we think must be taken to ensure that everyone has access to mobile communications, especially mobile messaging."

The device is also idea for listening to music and viewing videos that can be stored on a MicroSD memory card. Revol customers will be able to purchase the Ogo starting this summer. The price of the device is yet unknown.
