The Yamaha Racing Factory official website (yamahamotogp.com) was breached by a hacker called _V4ND that leaked the section of their database that contained customer credentials.

A number of 10,000 email addresses, usernames and passwords were leaked and unfortunately, all the passwords were stored in clear text, which means that all the users are now exposed to other malicious operations, reports Cyberwarnews.

Individuals who own accounts on the website are advised to quickly change their passwords before anyone else with a hidden agenda takes advantage of the large quantity of data.

At the time of writing, Yamaha hasn’t issued any official warnings to alert their customers, but hopefully they’re working on resolving the problem to, at least, prevent similar situations from occurring in the future.
