Curious messages were posted by a hacker or an employee

The 228,000 Twitter followers of Chipotle Mexican Grill usually see 2-3 messages per day from the company. However, on Sunday, someone posted around a dozen of strange tweets.

The messages read something like “Find avocado store in Arvada, Colorado,” “Hi sweetie, can you please pick up some lime, salt, and onions?” or “Mittens13 password leave.”

“Sorry all. We had a little problem with our account. But everything is back on track now! – Joe,” a company representative tweeted a few hours ago.

However, it’s uncertain if the tweets are the work of a hacker, or a disgruntled employee. Interestingly, the messages have not been deleted from Chipotle’s Twitter feed.

In a statement to Mashable, Chipotle’s representatives failed to clarify if the Twitter account was hacked.

“I'm glad no one went Anthony Weiner on us, but everything seems to be fine,” they stated.
