The official Twitter account of Band of Horses, the famous American rock band, has been hacked.

“Oh man i've got the password and no one from the management company ever checks this thing anyways! Let's see how long before i get in troub (sic),” the hacker wrote around six hours ago.

The hacker has retweeted tens of tweets posted by Band of Horses fans.

At one point, the following message was posted from the account: “OFFICIAL STATEMENT: Please disregard previous tweets. We were hacked.”

However, currently, the hacker still appears to have access to the account. It’s uncertain if the band temporarily regained the account when the statement was posted, or if the hacker himself wrote the tweet.

Fortunately, the hacker doesn’t seem to have any malicious agenda since no shady links have been posted on the hijacked feed.
