Just as promised, the first official look at Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar” has been released. Above is the teaser trailer that we also talked about earlier this week, after it leaked on Instagram.

This time, though, it’s in high quality and, as such, offers a better look at the kind of movie Nolan has made. It would be hard to define this teaser with more precision because it’s the very definition of a “teaser,” offering only so little information to go on: just enough to experience the feel of the film.

The only actual footage from the movie is the one with Matthew McConaughey and the scenes in the cornfield, interspersed with old footage about space exploration.

McConaughey’s voiceover also recalls the hysteria that surrounded the topic many decades ago, which is fitting, since the story will take place in the future.

“And perhaps we've just forgotten that we are still pioneers and we've barely begun. And that are greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, as our destiny lies above us,” he says.

“Interstellar” also stars Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Jessica Chastain, Wes Bentley, Casey Affleck, Ellen Burstyn, Mackenzie Foy, Topher Grace, and John Lythgow, and is based on a script by Christopher and Jonathan Nolan.
