Should be out until the end of this year

Finally, Motorola's efforts to bring out something new and innovative have paid off with the new ROKR E8 mobile phone. The device in not mind-blowing when it comes to performances, but brings a new approach to the way people see keypads.

The RAZR keypad is one of the things that greatly contributed to Motorola's success up to this point. Even more powerful competitors have been drawn to use it in some of their products, although it clearly screamed "Motorola", as it became a personal brand soon enough. The Motorola ROKR E8 comes to revive this with a fresh new keypad that producers have had the courage of using until now.

This music phone brings an Omega Wheel touch sensitive changing keypad with Haptic feedback. This means that every time the user touches the controls he receives a vibration to simulate the feeling of pressing a real live button. This, along with a dynamic design will surely appeal greatly especially to younger mobile phone users out there.

Motorola ROKR E8 will come in the sizes of 115 x 53 x 10.6 mm, which makes it rather long, but still slim enough to appeal to a lot of people. The 2 megapixel camera should be capable of providing captures of a good quality, although nothing over the average. Other specifications also include GPRS and EDGE support, although no 3G is included.

This is, above anything else, a music phone, which gives good reason for the 2 GB of internal memory and microSD card slot. This should take care of the user's worries for having enough storage space for its tunes and even personal files. Aside from this, the handset also includes an FM radio and 3.5 mm headphone jack to make the package complete.

Motorola ROKR E8 will be available starting with the end of this year, with high chances of this happening in November. The handset will come at the price of EUR 280, a fairly good one for such a bold push coming from Motorola.
