Official Android 4.2.2 Firmware Emerges for Galaxy S 4 (GT-I9500)
The software is meant for the Chinese flavor of the device
South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is getting ready for the launch of its Galaxy S 4 (GT-I9500) smartphone in various markets around the world, and has already started to push firmware for it to the Kies servers, it seems.Based on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system and packing the Nature UX 2.0 on top, the firmware spotted on Samsung’s servers so far was aimed at devices for the Chinese market, though builds for other countries are expected to be released as well.
The available software features build JDQ39, PDA version I9500ZCUAMDG, and modem version I9500ZCUAMDF.
As SamMobile (which spotted the new firmware over at Samsung) notes, the availability of official Galaxy S 4 firmware from Samsung should provide modders with the possibility to build custom ROMs for the new device.
