As is the case for the Enterprise flavor of Windows Vista, Microsoft hasn't offered public pricing details for Office Enterprise 2007. The Redmond company is selling both Vista Enterprise and Office 2007 Enterprise SKUs as part of volume licensing deals via Software Assurance, with price tags tailored to specific customers. However, the software giant is not as shy when it comes down of revealing the price of Office 2007 Enterprise through the Home Use Program: just $9.95. This while the Professional edition of Office 2007 is $499.95 and the Ultimate SKU goes as high as $679.95.

“We recently rolled out changes to the Microsoft Home Use Program (HUP) that may enable you to download Office Enterprise 2007 for your home personal use for just $9.95,” revealed Chris Bortlik, Office client technology specialist.

The Home Use Program is designed exclusively for Microsoft Software Assurance customers. Through the program, companies with SA agreements can allow their employees to access Office 2007 Enterprise at just the cost of the media (CDs), shipping, and handling. Still, for just $9.95, the Redmond company is offering fully licensed copies of Office 2007 Enterprise that can be installed and used on home computers. Users interested in taking advantage of the Home Use Program for Office Enterprise 2007 need only a work email address for a company with an SA agreement with Microsoft and a program code from the benefits administrator.

“The Home Use Program can help: Increase employee efficiency – using the same Microsoft Office system software at home and at work develops employee familiarity with the programs. Reduce your IT burden – Home Use Program customers have found that there are fewer help-desk calls and lower deployment costs when employees have the opportunity to improve their software skills at home. Enhance employee job satisfaction - the Home Use Program supports flexible work and commute options while also providing employees with significant savings on software,” Microsoft explained.
