Office Drop, a new productivity app that lets you scan (photograph) documents and upload them as editable and searchable files (PDFs) to the cloud, has been released for OS X.

Available as a free app with 2GB of storage, or as a paid service with additional storage, Office Drop lets you scan your paper and upload it to the cloud for easy future reference, or collaboration.

You can use ScanDrop, the free scanning software offered by the company, to upload scanned PDFs, as well as rotating and re-arranging pages prior to uploading.

Most scanners are supported, but users are encouraged to give this app a spin first before buying a plan.

Speaking of which, the paid version has additional features and includes unlimited scanning in the cloud.

The Lite installment scans up to 15 pages per month to the aforementioned cloud services or your Mac's hard drive, and offers unlimited scanning into OfficeDrop's digital filing system.
