There are more ways than one to sign up for the Office 2010 Technical Preview program coming up in just one month. First off, there's the Microsoft Office 2010 Technical Preview registration page that can be accessed through the Office 2010 TheMovie website. But at the same time, there are other options. Illustrative of this is the Microsoft Office Technical Beta Nomination webpage, which is now live on Microsoft Connect. Both offer users a chance to sign up for the upcoming Community Technology Preview of Office 2010 which is scheduled to go live at the start of July 2009.

“The Microsoft Office Technical Beta program is an invitation only program intended for committed beta testers. The purpose of the program is to gain product feedback and technical validation across the family of Office client and server products. Selected participants will receive pre-release software, early product documentation and guidance, and beta technical support through our sponsored Technical Beta Program newsgroups. Selected testers will be expected to participate in monthly program surveys and other requests for feedback,” reads the introductory message for the Microsoft Office Technical Beta Nomination on Connect.

Unlike the Office 2010 Technical Preview registration, the Office Technical Beta program is designed to allow potential testers to provide Microsoft with a greater volume of information about themselves and their plans to test the next iteration of the Office system. Still, while the CTP of Office 2010 will debut on July 1st, 2010, Technical Beta Program invitations will only be sent out starting in mid-July. Microsoft revealed that all the submissions would be reviewed and only then would testers be invited.

“Space is very limited, and all nominations will be evaluated on a first come, first served basis. The Microsoft Office Technical Preview build will only be available via download. No CD/DVD format will be available,” the company stated.
