14 DAY TRIAL // As it is the case with all major Microsoft software products, Office 2010 comes with a world of content designed to simplify adoption as much as possible. This is also true for the Office 2010 Resource Kit, a collection of resources published online on TechNet. Office 2010 users can also download a copy of the Office 2010 Resource Kit for offline viewing from Microsoft. The Redmond company is offering the Office 2010 Resource Kit Technical Library in Compiled Help format (CHM) free of charge via the Microsoft Download Center.
While the Office2010ResKit.chm offers a downloadable CHM alternative to the online version of the Office 2010 Resource Kit technical library, it is the documentation on TechNet that will be updated most frequently by the software giant. However, the latest version of the Office 2010 Resource Kit was released on June 17th, just a couple of days after Office 2010 was launched for the general public.
“The Microsoft Office 2010 Resource Kit provides information about new features and changes in deployment strategies for Office 2010. The documentation is intended for IT professionals who plan, implement, and maintain Office installations in their organizations. New and updated content will be published on a regular basis,” Microsoft stated.
Some users might come across problems when attempting to access CHM content. Essentially, the file will display messages such as ‘Navigation canceled,’ ‘Action canceled,’ or ‘The page cannot be displayed’ instead of offering the actual content. Users need to take a series of steps in order to resolve the issues. “Find the file on your computer, right-click it, and then click Properties. Click Unblock, and then click OK. Double-click the file to open it,” Microsoft explained.
Office 2010 RTM’d in April 2010, and, as of June 15th, it is available for purchase in retail outlets worldwide and through a variety of online shops. At the same time, users can download a 60-day free trial version of Office 2010 RTM and test it before deciding on a purchase.
