Office 2010 Record Uptake and Customer Satisfaction on One-Year Anniversary

Microsoft has a number of reasons to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Office 2010, including record levels of customer uptake and satisfaction, that is, in addition to the productivity suite’s first birthday, of course.

Although no actual sale numbers were released, the software giant continues to say that Office 2010 is outselling all previous versions of Office.

“Business customers are deploying Office 2010 five times faster than they deployed Office 2007. Office 2010 is also the fastest-selling version of Office ever. And nearly 50 million people worldwide use Office Web Apps to view, edit, and share their documents from anywhere with a browser and an Internet connection,” revealed Takeshi Numoto, Corporate Vice President, Office.

The Redmond company might not brag about the millions of Office 2010 copies that it has sold, but it’s less shy about sharing additional statistics, especially some numbers from a recent survey.

No less than 96% of respondents noted that they’re ready to recommend Office 2010 to friends, with 98% noting that the productivity suite helps them save time, and 96% vouching for the solution’s contribution to increasing their efficiency.

Although there are alternatives to Office, including open source solutions and Cloud offerings, and it’s good that customers have as much choice as possible, it’s also undeniable that Office 2010 is the best productivity suite money can buy.

“When we released Office 2010 to the world one year ago, our critics weren't easy on us. They said we were heading in the wrong direction by continuing to invest in our desktop applications in addition to the cloud,” Numoto added.

“Even more recently, there've been more predictions of the PC's demise. But the reality is, based on the market results we see in our sales and adoption data, people continue to love Office on the desktop and they're embracing Office in the cloud.”
