Office 2010 customers that come across issues with the product key for their copy of the productivity suite can turn to an online help utility offered by Microsoft to help them resolve their problems.
Office 2010 Product Key Solution is available free of charge, and can help users locate their product keys, provide guidance on how to enter it, troubleshoot various issues and even get replacements in case they misplaced theirs.
The app is extremely easy to use, with customers first being required to select one of the categories available, in accordance with the particular problem that they’re experiencing.
For example, guidance is available in the case that a validation error is produced when users enter the Office 2010 product key, and they’re unable to move forward with the installation process.
In such a case, the following error message is provided: “This is not a valid Office Product Key.”
“This message appears when one of the following occurs: "Microsoft Office 2010" is selected from the Start menu; multiple installations of Office cause a conflict ; the product key for another product is entered; the correct product key is mistyped or entered incorrectly,” Microsoft notes.
“The troubleshooter will explain each cause in more detail and help you resolve the error. However, if you would like to contact Microsoft Customer Service instead, we can provide you with the support number.”
Customers that experience this issue can go ahead and use the troubleshooter in order to resolve the issue themselves, or they can opt to contact a Microsoft Customer Service representative.
Those running older versions of the productivity suite, such as Office 2007 and Office 2003 can also get some help from the software giant when it comes to troubleshooting product key errors.
However, this time around, the Redmond company is only offering a Knowledge Base article,
KB 2549291, to provide guidance.
