An extremely rare and quite vicious looking purple eel goby has been found in China. The eel is being compared in the media with the “chestburster,” a sci-fi creature that only exists in the “Alien” series.

The flick featured monsters growing inside human bodies, feeding on them and bursting out of their stomachs, blood covering their faces.

This eel is a little more harmless than that. As Daily Mail reports, it only eats crustaceans, small fish and invertebrates.

It can usually be spotted in rivers, coastal waters or estuaries. This time, it was fished out of the Taihu Lake in Yixing, Jiangsu Province.

The creature crawls through mud and, although it looks terrifying up close, it can only grow up to about 30 cm (11.8 inches) long.
