The two developers might choose to work on it on their free time

The team working on Alone, a horror title that aimed to use the technology of the Oculus Rift to scare players, announces that it has failed to reach its crowdfunding goal and that it currently is re-evaluating how it can complete the project.

Greenwood Games counted on fans to get 25,000 dollars (17,500 Euro) but their support was not strong enough to make sure that the title can be completed.

Developers Dan Wallace and Bryan Cohen are currently evaluating whether to continue working on Alone on their free time or whether a second Kickstarter campaign can be more successful if it is launched after the Oculus Rift virtual reality googles are available.

The team is also considering abandoning Alone altogether in order to create The Witching Hour, the game within a game.

Dan Wallace states, “This Kickstarter campaign created a fantastic community for us, which helped us a lot with their feedback and ideas. Even though we did not ultimately reach our financing goal, we would still like to thank every one of them individually for their support.”
