When the story broke that a California mother gave birth to eight children, the second ever such case in the US, the American public felt nothing but sympathy towards the young woman. Now, she’s reportedly trying to sell her story to the highest bidder, in an attempt to make some money to take care of the little children. Oprah Winfrey, the queen of television, is said to be the first on the list.

Nadya Suleman, 33, the mother of the eight newly-born children, is now in talks to break the silence on her life story for the whopping amount of $2 million. Speculation has it that less than a week ago she could have gotten as much as five times the sum, that is, before word transpired in the media that she had other six children under 8 at home, in her care. This is when public interest for her case plunged, which is why rumor has it that she’s now doing her best to get on Oprah before interest dwindles even more.

According to several media outlets, Oprah is not the only one looking for exclusivity on the Suleman story. “Good Morning America” presenter Diane Sawyer is also said to be looking into the deal, as also is CBS’ Katie Couric, both of them being reportedly more than willing to pay the approximately $2 million price Suleman asks for her story. Whether any of the three will actually get to have the 33-year-old mother on the set is yet to be established.

Suleman lives in a two-bedroom bungalow with her first children and her parents. Allegedly, she is able to provide for the children off her education grants, while her father also chips in, having accepted a job as a translator in Iraq to make sure that the kids are well taken care of. “She is not evil – but she is obsessed with children.” her mother Angela told the media when it was learned that the woman was the mother of fourteen children.

Nadya Suleman is currently still in hospital, where medical staff is making sure both she and the babies are well. According to a spokesperson for the facility, it’s likely that the children remain there for at least a couple of months.

It would be irresponsible for Oprah to support the mother with wither a TV show or obtain material support from the mother. Personally if I was the insurance company that is going to foot this bill, I would be establishing a court case against the clinic that performed the in-vitro fertilization(s). The costs to this company for all the medical care due to the irresponsible of the mother is going to be several millions of dollars! The average NICU costs per baby per day can be over $10,000 for a baby without any major health related issues.

8 babies x 30 days (normal length of stay) x 10,000 = $2.4 million.

Major NICU stay with health related issues:

8 babies x 30 days x 22,000 = $5.2 million.

If the mother is consider to be in the low-income bracket in California than Medicaid will pay this bill for the mother!!!

First, she lied about having a disfunctional family. Second, she is on welfare.Third, she is jobless. Fourth she is obviously manipulating the kindness of her parents.Fifth, she is trying her best to justify her actions. Pleeease! This is all planned out! $2M interview here and Oprah there ,and +++$$$+++.... She is manipulative.

I think this whole thing is disgusting! Nadya Shuleman used children to live off of the hardworking taxpayers! If Opera, or anyone else for that matter, is dumb enough to give this lazy money hungry slug a dime, then this will give many other lazy women a way to make a load of money without working. This would be a very big mistake on Operas part. I, and everyone else feels extremely sorry for all the children, and the real reason they were brought into this crazy world. All those children should be given up for adoption, so they can be put in loving, normal homes with people who can support them.
