Nadya Suleman, the Octo-Mom, and her story of being a single 33-year-old parent raising no less than 14 children under the age of 8 has made the international headlines, especially since she went on the Today show to defend herself. With so much going against her and her obvious inability to provide for her kids, Suleman has chosen to turn to the very public that’s criticizing her, by setting up a website asking for donations.

The “Welcome to the Nadya Suleman Family” website has just been launched a few hours ago by Nadya’s publicist, and its aim is clear from the very start: other than presenting the octuplets to the world, it is also destined to help the unemployed student take care of her babies. Donations in money and items are possible, with several options to choose from. Money can be given online or by mail, while items can reach Nadya through the latter, as she also makes sure to include her address.

The newly set up website also includes a “Leave a Comment” section, but it’s impossible for users to see what others have written. An explanation for this may be found in the fact that Suleman does not want to make the comments public, it has been said, since the public’s reaction to giving birth to eight children when she had other six at home has been received with anything but applause. Understandably, both she and her publicist know what to expect from the visitors of her site, other than money and baby stuff.

Speaking of which, several reports in the media have it that Suleman has backed down because of too much “heat” from the media and the public, and has went into hiding. Her spokesperson confirmed that Suleman and her kids had been moved to an “undisclosed location” because of the harsh criticism she received, including death threats. “The bulk of them just rail against her being, as they would refer to her, as a person who’s taking advantage of the system, and they just go from there.” the spokesperson shared.

As recently revealed, Suleman (currently $50,000 in debt) is on all sorts of government assistance, which she refuses to consider welfare. She receives food stamps, while three of her older children get disability funds. Nadya Suleman is currently unemployed, but is convinced that God will make sure that she and her 14 children are well provided for, as she herself put it.
