Angela Suleman, the mother of “the most vilified woman in America,” Nadya Suleman, the woman who gave birth to octuplets a while back and who has, in the meantime, become the object of the harshest public backlash ever, is now retracting her previous statements. While still sticking to her initial statement saying she did not know Nadya was implanted with six embryos, Mrs. Suleman is now saying her daughter is a good mother.

Although Angela is the one taking care of Nadya’s other six children (all under the age of eight), and despite the fact that she has repeatedly said she could no longer deal with the situation, the exact nature with her relationship with her daughter has not yet been determined, it has been pointed out. Nadya, for one, revealed she grew up in a “dysfunctional” family, while Angela spoke to the media to vouch that her daughter was in no position, either financially or emotionally, to raise 14 children.

Now, Angela Suleman seems to have had a change of heart, as her recent interview for the “CBS Early Show” seems to show. While still insisting that her daughter went behind her back and had six embryos implanted (which resulted in octuplets), Angela is now singing a different tune than that of last week, underlining that Nadya is a wonderful mother because she’s “trying so hard.” Nevertheless, that does not change the fact that raising 14 children, all so little and some of them with special needs, will prove an almost impossible task for Nadya, as well as for herself.

Just last week, Angela Suleman agreed to do a tell-all interview with Radar Online, which also implied granting them access to the three-bedroom bungalow that will soon accommodate 16 souls (including Nadya and Angela), in which she clearly stated that her daughter was far from the mother she seemed to be. Either because of the death threats that prompted Nadya to move to an undisclosed location, or because she has been forced by a court gag order issued on Friday, Angela Suleman is now going back on almost everything she has said so far.

“How she’s going to cope, I don’t know. I’m really tired of taking care of the six children and need her to think about how she’ll provide for all these children. The truth is that Nadya hasn’t worked since she started having her children, while [her father] Ed and I battled to pay her bills. Nadya promised to help me with the bills, but she never has. I lost a house because of it and now I’m struggling to look after her six. We had to put in bunk beds, feed them in shifts and there’s children's clothing piled all over the house.” Angela Suleman told Radar Online just a couple of days ago.
