Nadya Suleman, the mother of 14 the media had long dubbed Octomom, has admitted herself to a rehabilitation center for what her rep calls an addiction to prescription pills, developed because of intense stress and anxiety. A new report suggests alcohol is actually at the root of the problem.

Radar Online has it on very good authority – a former nanny of Suleman’s – that she would actually drink like a sailor whenever she had the chance, regardless of the fact that she had then to drive her 14 kids back home.

The celebrity e-zine got a hold of two, very compromising pieces of evidence: a phone message left by Suleman’s own dad, Ed Doud, for the nanny, and a recording in which the nanny is trying to reason with Suleman that she’s not fit to drive in her state.

In the audio message, Doud is heard saying how worried he is about his daughter and how she’s endangering her and her kids’ life by getting behind the wheel when intoxicated.

Octomom, as it must already be known, has 14 children, all conceived through IVF: 6 older ones (“the big kids” referred below) and the octuplets.

“I'm worried about Nadya. She's not answering the phone. And I really worry about her. Sometimes she starts drinking vodka, whatever, so maybe she should not be driving,” Doud is heard saying in the phone message.

“I could pick up the kids tomorrow, I mean the big kids. I don't know what to say. I have no idea what to say. She cannot drive the kids and drive herself and drive back here,” Octomom’s father says.

Speaking with Radar, the former nanny paints Suleman in a very unfavorable light: she would often get so drunk she could hardly stand, let alone walk or drive her own kids in the van home, and would just as often drive after a few drinks, with and without the children.

Suleman’s publicist has not yet addressed rumors of a possible alcohol problem.

“Nadya wanted to get off the Xanax she was prescribed by her doctor and learn to deal with her stress, exhaustion and anxiety with professional help with a team of doctors. Nadya wanted to deal with her issues and make sure she is the best mother she can be,” he said the other day in the official statement.
