The quirky multiplayer sensation Octodad: Dadliest Catch is coming to the Xbox One and Wii U platforms later this year.

The game has had a very successful run on PC and on the PlayStation 4 home console from Sony, selling close to half a million copies in total, enabling countless players to engage in beguilement, playing the role of a cephalopod hiding his true nature from the world.

The crazy physics-based game will be headed to the Xbox One computer entertainment system from Microsoft and to Nintendo's Wii U this summer, allowing a whole new audience to engage with the zany type of fun it offers.

The game deals in mainly slapstick comedy and allows players to team up in cooperative multiplayer and control each of Octodad's eight arms separately, trying with difficulty to perform mundane, daily tasks that are made nigh impossible by his lack of bones.

The game is riding the popularity wave of similar indie titles such as Surgeon Simulator, Goat Simulator, or I Am Bread, which became famous mainly due to online streamers and the propensity for crazy antics.

Octodad will play his ruse on several new platforms this year

Furthermore, developer Young Horses has revealed that it's still working on delivering a PlayStation Vita edition of Octodad: Dadliest Catch, assuring fans that it has not forgotten about its promise.

Granted, you can always stream the game from your PlayStation 4 console using remote play, but the Vita edition of the title will most likely enjoy the use of some of the handheld's specific features, such as touch controls.

The devs have also clarified that there won't be any discounts for owners of the PC version of the game on either of the upcoming releases, which is unfortunate but not really unexpected.

For the time being, there is no hard release date for the title. Please enjoy the Xbox One trailer below responsibly.
